DC Generational Wines is my family’s legacy in a bottle. My grandfather Juventino Cervantes planted Thompson Vineyard alongside my father Moises Diaz and a couple of my uncles in the late 80s. One of the very first vineyards to plant Syrah in Santa Barbara County. My father has been the vineyard manager at Martian Ranch since 2012, alongside my brother Fernando Diaz, they’ve gotten the grapes Demeter certified biodynamically since 2017. My brother Moises Diaz Jr was the vineyard manager for Watch Hill Vineyards for a couple years before he passed away. I can’t forget to mention my mother Rosario Diaz, alongside my grandmother and a couple of my aunts, who have all been a part of some of the fastest yet cleanest harvesting crews Santa Barbara County has to offer. The logo is the perfect representation of this idea. DC stands for both my last names, Diaz Cervantes. The roots coming out of Dc point toward being rooted in the industry thanks to those that came before me. Generational refers to being the third generation that works with the grapes but the first to make wine out of them. My family has spent more than 30 years working and caring for the vines, I’m the first to be able to turn all their hard work into a bottle. farmed and harvested by two generations, produced and bottled by the third generation.
